Blake Lively in Cannes Neu: Anleitung für geflochtene Haare

As one of the biggest, not to mention longest, red carpet events of the year, the Cannes Film Festival is set to be two weeks of glitz, glamor and great hair. Starting things off in style was none other than L’Oréal Paris spokesperson Blake Lively alongside her fellow brand ambassadors Zoe Saldana, Jane Fonda and Gong Li.

Easily one of the best coiffed at the Grace of Monaco premiere, Blake’s tousled braid isn’t a hairstyle we’re likely to forget anytime soon!

What you need:

Hair ties
Pins
Fine-tooth comb

Step one: Starting with dry hair, spray the roots and the lengths with High Lift Creation Spray. This will render a matte finish and give plenty of hold for some of the next steps.

Step two: Gather the hair back into a high ponytail and secure with a hair tie. Use a brush to eliminate any bumps and make sure all of the hair is included, even at the back!

Step three: Use a small section of hair to camouflage the hair tie by winding it around the base of the pony. Pin underneath to hold it in place.

Step four: Tease the lengths of the pony with a fine-tooth comb. This is to build some extra volume and texture, just make sure the hair is still braid-able once you’re done.

Step five: Split the hair into three unevenly sized sections and loosely braid all the way down. Secure at the ends with a small tie, ideally similar in colour to your hair.

Step six: Use your hands to further muss the braid by rolling it between your palms then finish with Bold Control Hairspray. That’s it!
